Edith Meusnier is a French textile and environmental artist. Her work plays with time and seduction as her sculptures are only introduced for a season to the parks and gardens she shows in. Her practice consists of making ephemeral and artificial installations within nature, in order to let the sun and rain increase the transparency, effects and illusion. The unknowingness of what the elements will do to the sculptures within nature plays a big and interesting part. She describes her works as never frozen, they vibrate between shadow and light, they move with the wind.

She makes her works inspired by that particular setting, saying, "I choose materials, colours and shapes depending on the terrain, climate and light of the place". She conforms with the environmental site creating a paradoxical environment which suggests questions of sustainability.

Meusnier really inspired me to bring my work outside. It was already translated from nature so it only makes sense to return it to nature after its completed. I love how she doesn't try to make it blend with nature, her work completely stands out but because of the difference they can both coincide. The personalisation to each site shows the real thought put into every process of her making. It really makes me want to just go outside and capture my sculptures in so many different settings and maybe even go on to change them accordingly. The aspect of unpredictability is exciting! she makes these these sculptures and hands over all control for them act freely, for me this reflects upon the spontaneity which is experienced within the environment.
